The Story of Two Monks

- Many variations to this story. Its goes like this... One day, two monks were returning to the temple. Along the way, they met a lady who fell and hurt her leg. Unable to walk, she sits beside the road side.

The elder monk taking pity carried her and back to her house. As monks are not supposed to touch the opposite sex, the younger monk was wondering why his fellow disciple took this action. It took a while before they reached their monastery.

Unable to keep the suspense any longer, the younger monk questions the elder monk on his action. In return, the elder replied that he had already let go of this thought when he left the lady down at her home and that the younger monk is still carrying her.

This story tells us to let go when the matter is over instead of harping over it. But being a human, we sometimes tends to hold on forever even when we are no long needed. Many a time, we could forgive but never forgets. Time flies and things and events will never be the same. Just like childhood. Children will grow up and they would lose their innocence forever.

What we have are photos and memories...
